Diego Leanos, better known by his stage name Lil Xan, emerged on the music scene with a moniker derived from Xanax, reflecting the struggles and experiences that have shaped his journey. Rising to fame through platforms like SoundCloud and YouTube, Lil Xan gained widespread recognition with the release of the music video for "Betrayed" in August 2017, a track that peaked at number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In an interview with XXL, Lil Xan announced his debut album, "Total Xanarchy," which featured collaborations with notable artists such as Diplo and Swae Lee. The subsequent Total Xanarchy tour, announced in December 2017, sold out in a remarkable five hours, showcasing Lil Xan's growing influence in the music industry.

The debut studio album, "Total Xanarchy," dropped on April 6, 2018, receiving mixed reviews from critics but making a mark on the Billboard 200 by debuting at number ten. Not one to be confined by conventional timelines, Lil Xan continued his creative journey with the announcement of the mixtape "Heartbreak Soldiers" in May 2018, released on July 8, 2018.

In a poignant tribute to the late Mac Miller, Lil Xan revealed his work on an album titled "Be Safe" in September 2018. Despite facing challenges, including the cancellation of previously announced projects, Lil Xan has remained a dynamic and enigmatic figure in the music world.

After a series of statements about his second album, Lil Xan returned to the spotlight on June 24, 2022, with the EP "have a nice day." This collaboration with emo rapper Chris Miles marked his first project in over three years, featuring the single "Miss Me" and a notable appearance from Lil Tracy.

Lil Xan's artistic evolution continues to captivate audiences, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to his craft. As fans eagerly anticipate his next chapter, Lil Xan's legacy in the realm of modern rap remains as distinct and intriguing as his unique journey suggests.
